Congratulations, Farewell, and Best Wishes, JoAnn Perry

JoAnn Perry (Conlon), CASL’s AASL representative since 2008 will be leaving Colorado to start an exciting new position with The Spring Branch ISD in Texas as Director of Innovative Media Systems!  We are very happy for JoAnn, but sad to see her go.

JoAnn has been Colorado’s representative to the AASL Affiliate Assembly, and recently was elected to represent Colorado and serve nationally as the secretary to the AASL Affiliate Assembly.   During JoAnn’s tenure with the Assembly, she promoted Denver, Colorado as a possible site for the 2015 AASL National Conference, for which we are still under consideration. She has been a wonderful representative for Colorado, sharing information with school librarians in the state, and attending every Affiliate Assembly session, giving Colorado a voice and a vote in the national arena.

During JoAnn’s time on the CASL Board, she made numerous contributions to our organization.  JoAnn was instrumental in writing and obtaining an ABC-CLIO Leadership grant in 2008 which allowed us to defray costs to hold our first Preconference to TIE.  She contributed to two other grant writing initiatives as well.  Additionally, JoAnn served as one of Colorado’s AASL L4L trainers, offering great workshops at CAL that were very highly reviewed.

JoAnn, we wish you the very best, and thank you for your service to CASL.
