CALcon 2010: “Illumination and Transformation”

Hello CASL Members!

Just wanted to send you an update on what’s happening in your professional organization!  CAL Conference 2010, “Illumination and Transformation” is just weeks away (October 7-9 in Loveland, CO) – and we’ve got plenty of great sessions that will appeal to school librarians.  I am attaching a “special” schedule for you to start creating your personalized plan! Sign up for the conference here:  http://guest.cvent.com/EVENTS/Info/Summary.aspx?e=f71d4350-dcf4-4200-acc0-ca9ea811e21c I am especially excited about the opening keynote address by Dr. Stephen Krashen on Thursday, October 7!

CAL school related sessions 2010 edited

The CASL meeting on Saturday will be jam-packed as usual with opportunities to network, sign up for a subcommittee, and this year, we are going to be getting a “letter to the editor” campaign started.  Be sure to attend this on Saturday, October 9 from 12 – 1 – we’ll have lots of door prizes!

Our advocacy subcommittee has been hard at work on creating a toolkit for school librarians – a presentation and ideas for sharing the success stories in your library with parent and faculty groups.  Watch the blog for more information coming soon.

Also, we will be posting dates for CAL Meet ‘n Greets – informal networking opportunities for librarians around the state.

See you at CALCON!

Co-President, CASL
