Changed Status of the $1M

On Behalf of Jody Howard —

Colleagues,

This week-end I put out the e-mail below indicating the positive status of money we requested for databases for the residents of Colorado. Well, there has been a definite snag in this allocation.

When we could not find the actual words that the Governor used in the veto after we were told it was posted on the Governor’s website, we found out that there had been some miscommunication with the Governor’s office. The Governor could not veto the amendment because there is not the $1M in the budget to allocate to us for the databases. So, we are back to square one. As it stands now, we will not receive the $1M allocation.

However, on June 20th when the state receives the revenue report, there may be economic stimulus money available to provide these funds. But we can’t count on them at the present time.

I certainly apologize for this confusion. We all acted in good faith with the information we received from the Governor’s office.

I wanted you to have this information as soon as possible. If anything changes, I will let you know.

Also, I appreciate the number of you who thanked the Governor based on the e-mail I sent this week-end. (It is my hope that we can use those e-mails again after the 20th of June.)

Thank you,
Jody
