Recently, a sub-committee of the group of Colorado Educators charged with developing a vision and strategic action plan for implementation of the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner in Colorado wrote an important document: a Learner’s Bill of Rights. The Learner’s Bill of Rights is being featured in the May edition of School Library Media Activities Monthly, which will soon be in circulation. The sub-committee is seeking feedback from educators on the ideas set forth in this document.
A wiki has been set up for educators to respond to questions and share stories that illustrate each of the 10 Rights contained in the document. Please visit our wiki and leave your comments on any or all of the 10 pages set up to collect information to help us better understand what these rights look like in your libraries and in daily teaching practices: http://colearnersbor.pbwiki.com/
