  1. In our roundatable, we discussed several topics, some good and some bad. Read on:
Some of us feel fairly isolated and do more administratively than we ever thought we would. We also discussed how differently budget money is allocated to library programs even within districts.
We also discussed the Professional Learning Community and what teacher librarians are doing to “wiggle in” to the content areas. One TL reported that she was her district level rep for English–that’s definitely one way to get in! Other TLs talked about the importance of attending content area meetings and ways to promote the library program, including e-mails to staff, building wide newsletters, and keeping district level personnel informed of the library program’s happenings. And still other Teacher Librarians discussed the importance of staff development.
Finally, we began a discussion on assessment and vertical alignment…how can each one be accomplished?
