Meeting Member Needs

I have had the opportunity to participate in discussions with Colorado School Library Leaders regarding how CASL might best meet your needs in terms of professional development. Specifically, we are wondering what your preferences might be for workshops and conferences.  Currently, in addition to the CAL conference, we traditionally offer a mid-winter or spring workshop. This is your opportunity! Tell us what you think.  One idea that has been brought up is looking for a way to piggyback on the TIE conference which is now very well attended by school librarians. Post your ideas and comments here!

  1. I am for anything we can do to offer additional staff development opportunities to school librarians in our state. If others out there, concur, please let us know…and let us know what other ideas we should consider!

  2. I like the TIE idea because we need to continually manipulate technology showing we know how to use it and foreseeing the future use of it. Where will technology take us now.

We need to teach librarians how to use Web 2.0, Podcasts etc. The Spring Conference should show lessons using these.
