CAL Legislative Meeting April 6, 2007
The April meeting of the CAL legislative committee was held at the Denver Public Library on April 6, 2007 at 10:00am. Ruben Valdez and Jerry Braden, CAL lobbyists, gave an overview of the legislative situation at this point in the current legislative session. The lobbyists explained the history of the cuts for libraries which occurred in 2002 and 2003. CAL is still working on reinstating the State Grants to Libraries program and the Payment for Lending program. Reinstatement will not occur this year, but the legislative committee will continue to work on this in preparation for next session.
