What are the trends in school libraries today?

Cyndi Phillips, president of AASL, is looking for the top 10 National Trends in School Libraries today. Post what you feel to be some of the best “best practices” from school libraries in Colorado, and I’ll forward those to Cyndi so she can compile a national list.

    I think that the way teacher -librarians and technology specialists have collaborated to plan for ET-IL integration is a good example of a best practice in Colorado. Teacher-librarians are recognized as important leaders in solving the puzzle of how to show students are “technology literate” by the end of 8th grade, and in fact, the conversation has moved beyond this to recognize the important 21st century critical thinking skills that teacher-librarians retularly integrate into instruction through collaboration with classroom teachers.
